EKATERINA ALEXEEVA – DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Ekaterina Alexeeva has worked with Cadogan Financial since 1995 and became a director of the firm in 1998: she was head of Cadogan Financial’s representative office in Russia from 1998 until 2002. Katya is an expert on the collective investment funds, having worked on their development in Russia, advising the Russian Federal Commission for Securities Markets and the Centre for Capital Markets Development from 1995 until 2001. This included work with the trade association of managers of investment funds; with the Collective Investment Centres, which provide public information about investments; and with training institutions, particularly in relation to her work on the introduction of qualifications for securities markets professionals. Katya has also delivered training courses for fund managers in Uzbekistan and has drafted a range of fund regulations for the Securities Regulatory Department of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
Katya has a broad working knowledge of capital markets, having worked on two major reviews of Russian capital markets development. She is also familiar with regulation and operation of collective investment schemes internationally, as she is responsible for researching and maintaining Cadogan Education’s website.
She is co-author of the book Managing Collective Investment Funds; and of the handbook Regulating Collective Investment Funds, written for the Russian Federation Commission for Securities and Markets and was the author of the textbook for the fund management examination of the RFCSM. She is also an experienced speaker and trainer and speaks fluent English.
