SALLY BUXTON - DIRECTOR OF PUBLICATIONS
As one of two principals of Cadogan Financial, Sally Buxton specialises in advising governments, regulators and the private sector on development of collective investment schemes and asset management markets internationally, with a particular focus on emerging markets. Such advice covers policy for the development of collective investment funds; the aim, content and application of law and regulation; development of regulatory and trade and training organisations; development of necessary infrastructure (eg custody) and public information as well as development and delivery of training programmes for regulators, asset management firms and their service providers.
Since starting work in the asset management sector in 1982, when she became responsible for the public information programme of what is now the Investment Management Association of the UK, subsequently becoming strategic adviser to the Association of Investment Trust Companies, UK, Sally has worked with a wide variety of private sector clients including stock exchanges, fund management firms, their service providers and trade associations in Western Europe and the USA. She first worked in emerging markets in 1991, advising a major commercial bank in Slovakia on the marketing of a privatisation fund, which subsequently attracted more than 10% of the Slovak population. Since then she has worked on the development of privatisation programmes, capital markets and collective investment funds in twenty-five emerging markets around the world.
She is now responsible for Cadogan Education's publications, as co-author of Managing Collective Investment Funds and Regulating Collective Investment Funds and is an experienced speaker and a regular trainer on Cadogan Education’s public and in house training courses.
